ALL ABOUT THE EARTH'S NATURAL FORCES

May 2017 -

With the help of speech bubbles in comic style the heroes explain the handling of the exhibits and provide the necessary background knowledge. The aim of the exhibition is to teach our young visitors how these forces affect our Earth and what happens when they get out of control.

The photo exhibition shows in touching pictures the life in the Holy Land from two different angles: From the perspective of the children in their own photographs as well as in the portraits by photographer Stephan Pramme. In this unique exhibition visitors will see the world from a different perspective.

THE SPECIAL EXHIBITION ON FOREIGN COUNTRIES AND CULTURES

Duration: 15.01.2016 - 06.01.2017

If one wants to confront prejudices about faraway countries and foreign cultures, you have to begin with the children. The interactive exhibtion wants to creat curiosity for other people, by letting children discover the everyday life of other cultures by playing. What divides us, what unites us, what we have in common?
These and other questions will be answered by the new special exhibtion "Far far away - and yet so close" ("Ganz weit weg - und doch so nah"), that can be explored from 15.01.2016 - 06.01.2017 at the Explorado Children's Museum in Duisburg.

BOOKMARKS EHIBITION

In the exhibition "bookmarks" the Explorado Children's Museum presents more than 300 bookmarks from around the world that have been collected by Rosemarie Abel. More than 25 years ago her passion for collecting was aroused. However, the issued bookmarks are often older and take Explorado visitors on a special kind of world trip. Different colors, shapes and materials encourage to guess the countries from which the exhibits come from. Every single bookmark reveals a lot about its people and their culture. This unusual exhibition contributes to our programme in the "Year of Global Understanding" and the interactive exhibition "Far far away - and yet so close."

EXHIBITION ON HOW TO FEEL GOOD

Erlebnisausstellung "Tut mir gut" im Explorado Duisburg

Duration: 25.01.2014 - 6.01.2016

Jump in the ball pool, take a ride across hill and valley, listen carefully in the noise labyrinth, and have a rest in Louise's meadow - this is the journey to “Tut-mir-gut”, the interactive exhibition of the German Federal Centre for Health Education (BZgA). Come and explore on the second floor in the cildren's museum!

The interactive offerings address the issues that are important for children and parents equally: healthy eating, exercise, noise pollution, relaxation as well as dealing with feelings and conflicts. While playing, children discover their inner state and get a feeling for positive and negative body sensations: "What makes me feel good, what does not”. The understanding and learning through own experience lies at the heart of this special exhibition.

HANDS-ON CONSTRUCTION SITE

At the hands-on construction site in front of the Explorado Children's Museum young visitors from the age of 4 to 12 years can try a variety of craftman's trades. As on a real construction site there is hard working at the Explorado construction site - of course with helmet, gloves and appropriate tools. There is a lot to do: as a bricklayer, painter, plumber, mason, horticultural or road paver. Whether working alone or as a group, children enjoy making plans and feel proud of their accomplishments, like building a street or a house. While playing, young builders apply principles of architectiture and engineering. The young builders are supported by the Explorado master-builders.
The special exhibition is opened during the warm months and in good weather. It is included in the admission price.
